In the hot seat this month is Sarah our friend at Shield Accountancy.

Q: What services do you provide?

We provide all statutory requirements as Accountancy Practice plus business advice.


We also have Shield Pay the invoicing & payment platform for drivers including a benefits Hub, finally we have just launched The Shield 360, all in one driver, vehicle & parcel hub so it’s a exciting time for the business.

Q: Do you have any strange stories/encounters ?

Only one meeting I went to some time ago where the business owners dog was present and the Director said that the puppy would have the final decision..

Q: What benefits can you bring to members via your partnership with the NCDA, how can you support the membership?

We are in a position where we work across many industries and can bring valuable insights into this sector from our expertise. With Logistics we can not pay drivers and help support the business we can offer compliance advice when dealing with self employed and have a broker arm of our group to offer terms on any funding of vehicles.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your day-to-day job?

No day is the same, I have to constantly be problem solving for business owners and really do enjoy forming a good working relationship my clients are important! 

Q: What is something unexpected about you or your company?

I used to be a beauty therapist ! 

Q: If you could have dinner with 5 people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

  • My dad ( who passed away 8 yrs ago ) 
  • Ricky Gervais just because he's very blunt ! 
  • My grandparents ( who always gave good advice )
  • My sister ( she always gets a party started )

Q: If you were stranded on a desert island, and you could only bring three things with you, what would you bring and why?

  • Matches for fires & cooking
  • Something to purify water with
  • Sun lotion
