In the hot seat this month is Sarma from Competent Couriers, a member of the NCDA since 2023  and newly appointed committee member.

Q: What services do you provide at Competent Couriers?

Same Day delivery across the UK mainland

Q: Do you have any strange delivery stories/encounters from your time at Competent Couriers?

Once we collected a consignment of gourmet doughnuts from NW London at 4am for a business brunch in Canary Wharf, only to be told they were the wrong flavour.  

It was probably a personal best getting from E14 to NW10 and back again.  Luckily we just made it, and no doughnuts were harmed in the process!

Q: What benefits has your NCDA membership brought to Competent Couriers?

We have been able to leverage the knowledge and expertise of more experienced members, and also inter trade with other companies.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the logistics sector?

Logistics is the backbone of Britain, without us the country would grind to a halt.

Q: What is something unexpected about Competent Couriers?

We are now an NCDA member, having started out working for a former President of the NCDA.

Q: If you could have dinner with 5 people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Q: If you were stranded on a desert island, and you could only bring three things with you, what would you bring and why?

  • A satellite phone/Starlink device- So I could still book those jobs!
  • A big speaker- For Youtube and good music
  • A BIG bottle of XO Cognac!- For obvious reasons
