Dave and the team re-joined the NCDA in July so have a read to learn a little more about them.

Q: What services do you provide at 24SevenSameday

Q: Do you have any strange delivery stories/encounters from your time at 24SevenSameday?

One of our most memorable delivery jobs took an unexpected turn when we were scheduled to deliver to Gary Lineker’s London home. When our driver arrived, they found the front door wide open. After calling out and receiving no response, they cautiously stepped inside to check if anyone was home — but the house was completely empty.

We were aware that Gary was abroad at the time, hosting the Euros, so it was clear something wasn’t right. Our client couldn’t reach him directly, but we noticed the property had a "For Sale" sign posted. Acting quickly, we contacted the estate agent listed, who arranged for someone to come and secure the property.

Our driver stayed on site until the house was safely locked up. It turned out a builder working on the property had left for the day — and left the fully furnished house completely unsecured.

We later received a kind letter from Gary Lineker thanking us for our help in safeguarding his home. Great to help a Leicester & England Legend !, but it just goes to show — we’re always ready to go the extra mile.

Q: What benefits has your NCDA membership brought to 24SevenSameday?

Hopefully the opportunity to work with like minded individuals and provide a great service.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the logistics sector?

We get involved in a lot of projects in all different sectors and I enjoy trying to understand their business and how we can help them.

Q: What is something unexpected about 24SevenSameday?

Can’t believe I have been in this industry over 40 years and running 24Sevensameday for 36 years this year !

Q: If you could have dinner with 5 people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

A Bunch of Comedians , for the laughs and the anecdotes

Every February, Leicester comes alive with laughter as it hosts the UK’s biggest comedy festival outside of the Edinburgh Fringe. We’re proud to have played our part in the festival spirit over the years — not just as fans, but as active supporters.

For the past 15 years, we’ve organised our own annual Charity Comedy Night, bringing some top talent to the stage and raising funds for deserving local causes. We’ve been lucky enough to host brilliant comedians including Josh Widdicombe, Joel Dommett, Tony Law, Paul Sinha, Josh Pugh, and Gary Delaney, among others.

It’s been a fantastic way to give back to the community while sharing plenty of laughs along the way — and we’re not done yet.
